He had his daughter Anissia in a village. It was twilight and the street lights were going down. Only few people were visible. Snow was falling, and he was sitting on his horse couch waiting for a passenger. Suddenly, an officer asked to go to Viborg. Iona got ready because he was grief stricken. After getting the passenger, he wanted to share his story to the passenger. But the officer did not show any interest and used bad language. He was in hurry, so he asked Iona to drive fast. He followed his instruction. He was seeking for right time to share his story, but he could not get right time and share his story. After some time, Iona got three passengers in his sledge. All of them were drunk. One of the people was hunchbacked and the two were lanky. He wanted to tell his story to them as well, but they refused to listen to his story. They used bad words to him. They made fun of his hat and driving. When there was a bit silence, Iona told that his son died. The hunchback responded him by saying we all shall die. But in fact they were not interested in his story at all. Then Iona reached his stable. He did not earn even for fodder. In the stable, he found a cab driver half sleeping, so he wanted to share his story to him. But the person covered his face and fell asleep. Finally, Iona went to his mare.
