Bachelor Level 4 Yrs. Prog./Education/I General English (Eng.Ed. 411) Year

Candidates are required to give their answers in their own words as far as practicable.

Attempt ALL the questions.
Group "B" [8x7=56]

1) Use the correct form of the verb given inside the brackets:

4) Edit the following text where necessary:
The camera, was invented in 1837, has had many different professional and personal uses. One of the earliest professional photographers was India cameron who objective was to make photographs the way a painter would create a painting. These photographs looked like the portraits, that were painted then. Mathew Brady, who was the greatest photojournalist of the civil war period informed the public about the realities of war, photojournalism was also used to depict life during the Great Depression. For example, photographers like Dorothea Lange took emotional photos of the dust in Oklahoma, whose displaced families from their homes. Photos have become a necessity for families they want to chronicle the milestones in their children's lives. Photos, are an essential part of any wedding, are cherished by families around the world.
5) Imagine that you are the principal of a primary school, write an advertisement with job specification for the post of some teachers.

Write a description on 'Village life & Town Life' using the following:
Introduction....village life/town life....advantages/ disadvantages.....comparison between them....conclusion.
6) Put the sentences in order of the events that took place in the story.

b. Jim sells Della's haircut.
c. Della gives Jim his Christmas present.
d. Della decides to sell her hair.
e. Jim gives Della the combs.
f. Della buys  a watch chain for Jim.
g. Della sells her hair for $ 20.
7)Write short answers to any two of the following questions.
a. What is the moral of the story of the two farmers. (Start of Kali Yuga)
b. Why did the writer endeavour to picture out the man as a whole man? (The Strange-Looking Man)

8) Write brief answers to any two of the following questions.
a. Why does the poet describe 'a smile' as funny? (A Smile)
b. Why did Albert Einstein decline to be the president of Israel? (Albert Einstein)
c. According to Marx, what is the root cause of social alienation? (Karl Marx)

9) Develop the statement 'Non-Violence is the only way to world peace' in about 200 words.
OR
Write an essay in about 500 words on 'The Position of Women in Your Society.'
10) Develop a hook, (i.e, a topic sentence/introduction), background information, thesis statement, supporting details and conclusion for the topic 'Inclusive Education in Nepal' and write a complete essay on it.
