A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings

Short and Simple Summary:

Pelayo and Elisenda, husband and wife are throwing the crabs (गंगटोहरु) into the sea. Due to three days rain, their house is full of the crabs, and the smell of the crabs causes (निम्त्याउछ) fever to their newly born child. When Pelayo and Elisenda are coming back to their house, they see a weak old man with enormous (बिशाल) wings (पखेटा) in their courtyard (आंगन). Then they try to talk with him, but he does not speak. After this, they call their neighbouring woman, and she says that the old man is an angel (देवदुत). Then Pelayo imprisons the old man in their chicken coop (कुखुरा थुन्ने कोठी). After some time, many people come to their house to see the old man because people spread the news that the old man is an angel. But Father Gonzaga, the local priest (पण्डित) says that the old man is not an angel. As time passes by, many visitors come to see the angel, and Pelayo and Elisenda start taking charge from their visitors, and they become very rich. When the visitors come there, they misbehave the angel like poking (घोच्ने काम) him with an iron rod, pulling his feathers and throwing stones at him in order to make him stand. In the town, a new festival comes, and a woman changed into a spider appears there. The woman starts losing people's interest from the angel. But Pelayo and Elisenda are able to build a mansion (महल) by taking charge from their visitors. When Pelayo and Elisenda’s child grows older, he is prohibited to go near to the chicken coop. But he goes, and the child and the old man have chickenpox at the same time. After some time, the chicken coup is broken, and the old man starts moving from one room to another. Then the child’s doctor comes there and says that the old man is dying very soon. But he becomes stronger, and his feathers grow back. One morning, when Elisenda is making lunch, she looks outside and sees the old man trying to fly. At first, he cannot fly, but finally he stretches his wings and flies away from their house and disappears in the sky.
