8. Prepare a leaflet for a newly opened restaurant in your city.[5]

9. Write a paragraph on 'Social Media'. (your paragraph should have a claim, supporting details and concluding sentence) [7] 

10. Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow [6]
What makes a beautiful face? How long or short should the perfect nose be; is there an optimal length to the face or ear lobe; what should the angle of the eyes be in respect to the bridge of the nose? Recent research suggests that beauty is simply a matter of being Mr or Ms Average. Three hundred psychology students were asked to rate pictures of faces using an attractiveness score of one to five. Some of the pictures were of a single individual, and some were composite faces, made up from the features of 2, 4, 8, 16 or up to 32 individual faces. The lowest scores for attractiveness were those for individual faces. The attractiveness ratings increased with increases in the number of faces which were used to make a composite face.

c. Do you agree with the writer's opinion?

a. Violence in sports is a bad thing. (Avoid vagueness choosing specific words that identify particular examples and details)
b. The reason Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence was because he felt the king was a tyrant. (Eliminate awkward phrasing and smooth it out)
c. If you develop skills, you can easily get employment opportunities. (Change into compound sentence)

Answer any THREE of the following questions. [3x10=30]
13. Imaging that you have just moved to your first air-conditioned residence after years of suffering without it. Write an essay explaining how air conditioning has changed your life.

14. According to Daniel Engber, organic food advocates argue that real, natural, healthy food tastes better than junk food. Do you think this argument is valid or just a propaganda to promote another business? Discuss.

15. Write a subjective description of a scene you remember from your childhood. In your thesis statement and conclusion, explain how your adult impressions of the scene differ from those of your childhood.

16. Briefly describe Sandra Cisneros's struggle against gender stereotypes as narrated in "Only Daughter". Do your parents also have different expectations for their sons and daughters?

17. Based on your reading of Amy Chua's essay "Why Chinese Mother Are superior", Explain how child-reading practices in China are different from those in Nepal.
