Mrs. Mooney is a butcher’s daughter, but she marries her father’s foreman. After their marriage, she has to face many difficulties. Her husband starts beating, abusing and even tries to kill her. At last, Mrs. Mooney came to know about Polly and Doran’s love affair. She was also informed that Doran was not ready to accept Polly. Though Doran took advantage of Polly’s youth, innocence and beauty, he wanted to leave her showing many problems. So, he was about to escape from there, but he fell in Mooney’s trap. Then she asked him to accept her proposal to marry Polly. He was compelled to marry her. I think Doran must have married her. With this, he didn’t have to pay out compensation and Mooney’s also fulfilled her responsibility.
