Film Review "Pashupati Prasad
Pashupati Prasad is a Nepali social film directed by Dipendra K. Khanal. The major actors of the film are Bipin Karki, Khagendra Lamichhane, Barsha Siwakoti, and Prakash Lamichhane. The film is about a simple man named Pashupati, who comes to Kathmandu with the dream of paying off his debt taken by his late father. Unluckily, he loses his life while he is struggling in the city.
In the film, Pashupati Prasad comes to Kathmandu after losing his family in Sindhupalchowk due to earthquake. He has to pay off fifty thousand loans taken by his dead father. So, he starts staying with his Mit Baa, a cremator in the Pashupatinath Temple. For clearing the loan, Pashupati starts searching and collecting coins and gold in the Bagmati River. In the course, he meets Bhasme, Hanuman and Bunu, and the film moves forward with many incidents. At the end, when Pashupati goes to sell a gold ring found in the river, a jeweller tricks him, and he loses his life falling in an accident.
Overall, everything is worth watching in the film. The most wonderful thing is its sensitive subject. Its musical part is also melodious. The script of the film, actors’ natural acting, location, cinematography, and direction are praiseworthy.
In my opinion, it is a superb movie because of its new style of presentation and subject matter. So, its weakness is hard to feel in the film. Overall, it gives a serious lesson and complete entertainment as well. So, I recommend everyone to watch the film with all family members.
