College Teachers

types of university teachers or professors. In the description, the speaker has
presented his experience before and after going to university. Before joining a
university, he had many ideas and generalization on college teachers. He had
thought that he would be lucky if his teachers knew his names and asked him
something. But after going to the university, he did not get the experience
that he had expected before. He knew that the ideas and generalizations were
meaningless and too broad. So, he came to realize that not all the teachers are
same. There are many differences in their personality, behaviour and teaching
style. According to the speaker, there are three categories of college or
university teachers or professors. They are:
- Neutral teachers
- Negative teachers
1. Positive teachers
-They are academically rich.
-They are hardworking, resourceful and enthusiastic.
-They are inspiring and motivating.
-They are the most pleasant.
-They are interested in their subjects and students.
-They try to learn all of the students' names.
-They allow for questions and discussions in class.
-They show their interest to their students out of their classes as well.
-They are available for trainings, conferences and other educational activities.
-They always encourage their students for betterment.
-Students feel comfortable in the presence of these teachers.
2. Negative teachers
-They are academically poor.
-They are the least enjoyable.
-They do not learn their students' names.
-They seem almost hostile in their classes and out of classes as well.
-They primarily lecture.
-They do not allow questions and discussion in their classes.
-They seem more like a machine man than a human being.
-They are always indifferent to their students.
-Students get afraid of them and feel monotonous.
-Their classes are least interesting and informative.
-They are less agreeable than positive teachers.
-They learn few names of their students only.
-Their classes are boring than the positive teachers.
-They allow less time for discussions.
-They are available for trainings, conferences and other educational activities, but they do not encourage students.
