NOTICE WRITING

Notice is a written or printed information or news announcement for a select group. Its language and tone should be simple and formal. It should also be brief and to the point.

Format:

A notice should be written in the following format:

-  The name of the organization (Center-Aligned)

-  The title saying ‘Notice’ (Center-Aligned)

-  The current date (At the left hand side)

-  A heading/title to introduce the subject of the notice (Center-Aligned)

-  The body of the notice (left-Aligned)

-  The writer’s signature, name (In block letters), and designation (Left-Aligned)

### Some points to be remembered:

An effective notice must inform the readers about the 5 Ws: what, where, when, who and whom.

- It should be in the passive voice as far as possible.

- It should be presented within a box.

- Line spacing should be 1 to 1.5.

- Font size should be 10 to 12.

- Fonts style should be like Cambri, Calibri, Ariel, Times New Roman, etc.

- Highlight the “TITLE” and “NOTICE” (Make it bold or underlined)

- The word limit for a notice is 40–50 words only.              

Q) Write a short notice on the behalf of the management of the Hotel Nepal to the public mentioning that the hotel would remain closed due to Covid-19.
